Using Pinbox on an iPod Touch or an iPad:
Like other map apps, Pinbox uses GPS to determine your location. iPods and Wi-Fi-only iPads do not have a GPS receiver. On these devices, Pinbox provides your approximate location using information based on your proximity to known Wi-Fi networks (when on and available). The more accurate the available information, the smaller the circle identifying your position on the map. This feature is not available in all areas. Known Wi-Fi networks are predominantly in urban areas. An internet connection is required to load maps, look up addresses, and search. Although Pinbox can be installed on iPads, it’s not formatted for the larger iPad screen - it runs doubled like all other iPhone apps.

I used to print a map and label each spot on my itenerary but Pinbox makes it so much easier. You can zoom in to find street names; pins link to websites; you can color code; you can write yourself memos for each location; and you can share the map with friends!
I like to keep track of interesting stores and restaurants. Pinbox lets me do just that! Some places dont have websites or are hard to find again and this app solves that problem!
The app is excellent for putting pins at places that I have travelled. I used to use the National Geographic World Map until an update caused me to lose hundreds of pins that I entered. Great communication with the developer assured me that this app was the way to go. It is very easy to use and just what I needed.
Operating a Garage Door Company in Edmonton Canada, dispatching 9 technicians driving around the city every day for repairing, installing and giving quotes on garage doors. Using this app we make a new map everyday for each technician and when we get a new customer to book its very easy to have a full view at all the work left to be done at that day and where in the city we will be in order to give a time frame for the new customer. Amazingly low cost, perfectly designed, bugs free app ! Saves me thousands and we never miss an appointment.
As my pin collection grows, so does the worry of losing them all because of a bad update. Definitely needs an option to export pins with and without all the metadata (including "pinned on" date.) Also second tap on direction arrow should bring "compass view" as defaulted in Apple Maps.
Ive tried a bunch of apps to pin multiple locations on a map and this ones the best. I can include information like photos, notes, URLs, phone numbers etc. It is easy to use, its UI is clean, and it keeps to the point. I also have been able to learn locations on a map, too. I like it for remembering one town from another on a long road trip. I can also get directions directly from the app. I saved several customized maps for different countries. It does a good job if that, too, so if you want to "bookmark" locations on a map, you found it.

Some bad moments

The idea is great but the app disappeared off my phone and I lost a LOT of pins as theres no iCloud copy. What a waste of time.
Ive been wanting an app like this for awhile and I am so happy with how this one is designed and executed. Its very straightforward and easy to use. I have several different categories and I am constantly adding cool new places all the time. Props to these guys/gals for making such an intuitive app. Thank you. 2015 UPDATE: Docked a star because it needs an iOS update for 6 and 6+.
The app is good for pinpointing locations, but could be updated to where if the app is deleted, locations could still be accessed. There is no login, so there is no individual account to save. Itd be helpful to be able to save locations.
Salesmans dream app! This app is great to map out all your customers. Only thing needed is the ability to colorcode the pins. Having an option to change the color of the pins would be awesome, other than that great app.

I avidly read outdoor/travel magazines, books, websites but have had no way to organize the places I see until I found this app! I can pin all the places I see and want to go, write notes on why I wanted to see the place, the address and contact phone number if available. I tend to find myself on spur of the moment travels to randomly decided places. This allows me to locate my position and see if theres any spots nearby that Ive wanted to go to that maybe my brain isnt remembering at the current moment. Super simple and easy to use. I thoroughly enjoy that its personal and doesnt include others ratings, comments and reviews on places. Allows me to form my own opinion without the influence of others. I only see the app getting better with more options and features as it is developed more. Worth the $3!
